China Summer Program
The China summer program is a 3-week summer study away program. Each year, the course focuses on a particular theme and geographic area. The program has been run by Professor Xiangming Chen since 2009. The summer program in China was suspended for 2020-2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and related policies. 2019 Field Course
The 2019 iteration of the course focused on Urbanization, Immigration, and Innovation in and around Shenzhen.
Minor in Urban China Studies
This field course is the keystone of the minor in urban China studies. The interdisciplinary minor in Urban China Studies helps students understand the diverse drivers and complex consequences of transformative urban development in China from historical, contemporary, and interdisciplinary perspectives.
